About Rare Disease Day: Rare Disease Day is a day to raise awareness among both lawmakers and the general public about rare diseases and their impacts on patients’ lives. NIH/NCATS and the FDA are sponsoring a shared Rare Disease Day event this year. They are aiming to inform patients, researchers, caretakers, and advocacy groups about the latest research for this underserved population.
